Nurses are yearly increasing its demand in some states. Hundreds and even thousands of nurses are needed and most areas are still looking for more. There is a significant shortage of both the licensed and trained nurses for some positions that must be filled in for some healthcare. A Registered nurse program is a two-year associate degree where nurses are required to go out or on field to treat patients. Anther level is the BSN or Bachelor of Science in nursing, a program that requires a completion of a four-year degree. These programs will be helpful for widening the range of experiences for learning both the healthcare and some theories that makes nurses more flexible. This is the main reason why there are so many nurses that decided to continue learning to receive or gain a BSN degree. In some prestigious health cares, they require their nurses to have a degree in BSN.
MSN or Master of Science degree is the next level after having the BSN. This is applicable to those nurses that want specializations or more experiences to a certain field like as nurse practitioners, nurse administrators and nurse anesthetists.
Nurses that graduated in any level receive six weeks long term orientations and mostly in one certain area in facilities in health care that usually in hospitals or office of the doctor. The nurses can do their work that is under the graduate license until they pass the board test and making them a full Registered Nurse. They are being observed and are under probationary status while their employees are discovering the skills they have.
As the orientation period ended up, the supervisors and the new nurse meet for the evaluation of his proficiency and what area needs attention and improvement. This stage will determine if the nurse still wants to continue on their new career.
