Surgery can be a minor or major procedure. Minor surgery is done for a procedure that usually takes short time where patients can be discharged soon when he is in good condition and he already strong enough to walk. Patients who have gone to this procedure recover easily. Usually it will only take a day for the surgery and discharging the patients from the hospital. A day surgery, or also called as "same day surgery unit", consists of both the combination of pre-operation and post-operation recovery. People working in this unit are surgeons and nurses that both possess strong medical knowledge. Daily nurses are the ones who prepare the patients for different surgical procedures. Different routines are done everyday in this center. Sometimes, you will collect blood from patients and do some experiments and tests in laboratory for the next day. Weekly, you have different task to do. You can be assigned in giving pre-op medicines and also arranging the sheets of beds of patients. Always be prepared to be called by the doctor to assist the patient in the operating room.
