Are You Using the Correct Advertising For Your Business?

In the last two business advertising articles, we determined if your advertising is really working, how to become conscious of the right forms of advertising, and the five biggest mistakes and solutions that companies make when opening their business.

The goal of this article is to articulate the different kinds of advertising so that you may learn their categories and purposes, and then decide which types of advertising are the correct ones for your business. The first collective and effective category of advertising is printing.

Printing

The printing category includes everything from business.educationeasy.net business cards, postcards, fliers, and brochures, to door hangers, hang tags, catalogs, tent cards, and calendars. There are two major sub categories in printing. You have promotional style printing, and then you have informational style printing. These terms refer to the design and content within the printing piece itself. There are also two forms of distribution. There is hand out marketing, marketing.educationeasy.net email marketing and direct mail marketing, which we will go in deeper detail at a later time. Both printing styles are excellent for business advertising.

Promotional style printing is designed in a way that will "promote" a particular service, product, new item, or just the company itself, wrapped with well written sales copy, images and typically a discount of some kind. A well crafted promotional printing item is designed to bring you more new clients as quickly as possible.

Informational style printing is designed in a way to offer good quality information, background, direction, purpose, mission and desire of the company, product, or service the marketing piece is designed for, to your prospective clients. This style of printing is typically used in well structured printing items such as brochures, fliers, booklets and even catalogs. A strategically planned informational piece is designed to inform and educate people into making a good buying decision within your company.

Signs

There are many different kinds of signs, such as yard signs, real estate signs, channel letters, illuminated signs, banners, flags, vehicle graphics, car wraps, window graphics, and more. Signs are one of the cheapest forms of advertising available, and they are one of the most lucrative, long lasting and guaranteed ways to bring new clients into your storefront. Not only can a well designed sign last up to fifteen years, depending on the materials used in the fabrication of the sign, but it gives an immediate pointer to your business for any person driving or walking by.

In the sign category, there are two sub categories which are important to know about. The first type of signs are the temporary ones. Temporary signs are items like banners, posters, yard signs and flags. These are temporary so they can be taken down after a specific promotion, or at the time of installation of the permanent signs.

Permanent signs are one of the best long term advertising investments a company can make. Of course signs are limited to the area, city and location in which the company resides, which is why it is important to consult with a professional sign company so that they can assist you in choosing the right sign for your location.

Publicity

Publicity is another form of advertising that can bring your company hundreds, thousands or even millions of new clients. Publicity ranges from t.v. ads, television promotions and information hotlines, to radio, talk show appearances, newspaper ads and interviews. The benefit of publicity is that with the right target market, a large enough advertising budget and a successful campaign, you can expand your business into the hundreds of percentages within days, weeks and even months. The downside to publicity is that it is often very expensive to receive good results, it requires in-depth market research, campaign analysis, and testing, and it doesn't work for everyone. Publicity advertising is good when you have the right budget to put the right ads in front of the right people.

Internet marketing

The fastest growing, quickest changing, wildest animal in all of advertising is websites, search engine optimization, and internet marketing. This is an industry that has grown into the trillions of dollars and into the billions of users. Once in a while a guy will come up with an informational product, market it online, and run into the right crowd of clientele, and make a few hundred thousand dollars over night. But as I said, it's only once and a while and it's too rare to be hopeful about. The long standing, strong expanding companies profiting online, are the ones who are using the right balance of internet marketing, website design and seo, with a long term plan and commitment to the ever changing atmosphere the internet provides.

Internet marketing can be a lucrative and strong form of advertising. In the last few years, yellow page advertising has been slowly decreasing, and internet web presence and online business use has been rapidly increasing.

Take into consideration when implementing seo, internet marketing, or what we call seo marketing, that it is an ongoing process. It can take months or even years before your web presence, depending on how many resources you're able to invest, becomes a dominant force in your marketplace. Seo marketing and internet marketing requires a detailed and meticulous process that only experts SEOs can truly understand.

The internet marketing, or seo marketing process begins with market analysis, keyword research, and module planning. Then it goes onto content development and keyword implementation. The next step is to market the content to the high traffic sites that are going to bring you high quality back links, readers and subscribers. The structure of the website is also important so that it keeps your visitors engaged and feeling comfortable when making their buying decisions. After building an opt-in form and offering a free download, the final stage is to implement a proven and effective affiliate program. With all of this in place, you are now ready to continue your monthly maintenance and expand your business using the internet. But be careful, if you do it all to fast, you can kill your business with a flood of too many new clients too fast. Not everybody could handle 100, 50 or even 20 brand new clients tomorrow. That is why strategic planning is a crucial element in the art of internet marketing.

Referrals

Referral advertising is another form of inexpensive and highly effective advertising. We could even call this kind of advertising and marketing, free advertising, but the truth is, nothing in this word is free, everything has its' price.

When your previous clients, whom are happy with the work you've done for them, refer you new clients, there's no better feeling and results than that. But keep in mind, to get those clients to refer you new clients, it's very important that all clients are treated exceptionally well, they are given promotional fliers or postcards to take home or to the office, and are asked to send referrals your way. Once they start sending referrals your way, your business can continue to grow in a positive direction.

Hiring Presenters

Hiring professional presenters to act as sales people to promote your business, is an extremely effective and uplifting form of advertising. The best locations for these presenters, depending on your target market and client base, to present your company, is at seminars, trade shows, school events, city gatherings, live events, internet broadcasting, vlogging seminars and many others. Whether these people come from your internal walls, or they're subcontracted, the most important aspect about these presenters is that they are very well acquainted with your company, and have experience presenting in front of large groups of people.

Since you now know the most effective and profitable forms of advertising, it is important to discern and decide which forms are going to best suit you and your business.
