Nursing Provides You With Job Security and Income

When searching for a job, most people would want to have a job that will earn them a good amount of money. What most people fail to look at is the security that they will get in their job. If you want the best of both worlds ,then nursing is the right career for you. The nursing career provides two things for you good income and job security. These are the things which people would always want once they have started working.

Nursing has been one of the growing careers through time and more and more job opportunities have been opening for them. The demand for nurses is so high that even of a lot of people are studying to be a nurse, there is still a lack in the supply of nurses. So no matter what kind of nurse you are, there will surely be job for you.

A nurse is someone who basically takes care of the people. They are in charge of the welfare of their patients who are recovering from sickness and disease. They work with a health team which specializes on this matter. They are usually tasked to work with a doctor to ensure the proper medication and care is given to their patients.

Once a nurse has earned her B.S. Nursing degree, she can now look for an entry-level job. Being a registered nurse can either work or continue their studies. There are a lot of nurses who have upgrade their degree into an master's degree in nursing and eventually to being a Ph.D. These increase the skilled nurses who can work for the country.

A licensed practical nurse (LPN) is someone who want to serve as a nurse but do not have a nursing degree. They are only required to undergo a practical nursing program and pass the licensure exam.

As their name implies, a license practical nurse takes care of their patients. They provide care as well as check the overall condition of their patients. They are in charge of taking blood pressure, temperature, pulse rates and other things that is needed for the check up of the patients. They are tasked to give medication and check if any allergic reactions occur to the patients.

They assist the patients if there are things that they need like a massage, ice pack application, hot water bottles or basic grooming. LPN's assist their patients when they need to change their clothes, take a bath, eat and other things which they need assistance in doing. They basically do a routine check up on the patients while ensuring the care that they need. LPN's also provide emotional care for the patients. If they patients feel alone, then the nurses will be there to cheer them up or talk to them. They can also serve as a friend to their patients.

They can work in agencies which provide care to the elderly. They do help the older patients to recover from sickness as well as guide them with their daily activities. The elderly need special care in all aspects so they nurses can guide them in whatever they do. Even if they do not need 2/7 surveillance, it helps to have a nurse take care of them. They also have to consult with doctors about the medications that they will give their patients. These places are often housing facilities which require the nurse to stay in the place.

In clinics and hospitals, LPN's can work as the doctor's assistant. Oftentimes, their job includes keeping records and scheduling appointments. Also, they can be assistants in operations of doctors. They are the ones whom you see assisting the doctors in check-ups, minor surgeries and other hands-on practices. This can be a good job for nurses who really want to practice what they have learned when they are studying. Although this can be a difficult job, there are things which nurses can learn along the way.

Rehabilitation centers also need nurses for the recovery of their patients. Rehabilitation centers usually take in patients who are injured because of sports or accidents. The rehabilitation stay can be long and that it can really be a hassle for patients. Nurses are there to give them medication for their wounds. They are also in charge of helping the patients go through therapy. Basically they assist the patients into full recovery. This can be a fulfilling experience for nurses, to be part of the recovery process of someone.

Since nurses are a part of the medical team, they too can work in the research field. They can contribute to the existing knowledge about nursing. Of course, nursing is also a science and nurses just do not do what the doctor tells them to do. Research s something which should be done continuously, so working in the research field is always in demand.

Choosing a job in nursing can really be confusing because of all the options that there is to choose from. It is up to you whether you want to work in a hands on job, continue studying or even in research. Nursing is a career which provides job security to the people taking it up. If a nurse leaves a job, she will be sure that another job will b e available for her. She does not need to worry about it. The pay is good for nurses which is just the right amount for the services that they give.

If you are finding a career, you may want to try being a nurse. As young as you are, try to get a nursing degree and you will sure get the satisfaction of being a nurse. If you think you are too old, then try being an LPN, you will still get to help other people and be a nurse if you want to. So no matter what your reason is for being a nurse, remember this career is growing and will provide you with the job security and income which you have always dreamed of.
