How to Ask For Flexible Hours Great Way to Work?

Do you find that having to get into the office for a certain time each day is just a bore? It makes life difficult to always have to get in for a certain time and if the traffic is bad, the tube delayed or your bus is late, then it can be very difficult indeed. And what happens if you have children and you are running late? Well you start off the day stressed and aggravated, instead of serenely calm.

Going home can also be a pain, because nearly everyone is leaving at the same time and there is always a mad rush out of the door and then just as you are about to leave your desk....the phone rings and it takes you half an hour to sort something out.

So what do you do? Do you ring up a recruitment agency and see what they have available? Or do you talk to management and see what they can sort out? Well if you are keen to stay working for that firm, then talk to your manager. Most companies now see that there are definite benefits to Flexible time, such as a workforce that is more adaptable, after all if people work extra hours they can claim the time back. It also means that workers can actually get to work when it suits them, so they don't arrived completely stressed out.

These are the main reasons that you should put forward to your boss when you sit down and talk to him or her about whether you can have Flexible hours. You should also point out if you have any caring responsibilities, such as children or a relative that you look after, since there are laws in place about providing workers in these situations with flexible working time.

You should also point out that you would respect the Flexible hours, not abusing the system and that it would mean that you would stay with that employer rather than moving one. If your employer values you at all, then Flexible time could be just around the corner.
